Mcdaniel Lake, southwest Missouri
Mcdaniel Lake is on the Little Sac River in Greene County, Missouri and is used for drinking water purposes. Construction was completed in 1929. Its normal surface area is 300 acres. It is owned by Springfield City Utility.
Mcdaniel Lake Dam is a gravity dam, of earthen construction. The core is concrete. The foundation is rock. Though originally completed in 1929, the structure was modified in 1988. Its height is 48 feet with a length of 700 feet. Maximum discharge is 17029 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 4560 acre feet. Normal storage is 4558 acre feet. It drains an area of 25000 square miles.
