Middle Falls, northeast New YorkMiddle Falls Dam is on the Batten Kill River in Washington County, New York and is used for hydroelectric power purposes. Construction was completed in 1915. It has a normal surface area of 120 acres. It is owned by Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. and Adirondack Hydro. Middle Falls is concrete, a gravity dam. The core is homogeneous, concrete. The foundation is rock. Its height is 48 feet with a length of 210 feet. Maximum discharge is 1750 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 600 acre feet. Normal storage is 240 acre feet. It drains an area of 436 square miles.
