Mount Sterling Dam, northeast Kentucky

Mount Sterling Dam is on Slate Creek in Montgomery County, Kentucky and is used for drinking water purposes. Construction was completed in 1960. It has a normal surface area of 88.5 acres. It is owned by the City Of Mt Sterling.

 

Mount Sterling Dam is of earthen construction. Its height is 55 feet with a length of 680 feet. Its capacity is 3200 acre feet. Normal storage is 1680 acre feet. It drains an area of 5.28 square miles.
