Construction was completed in 1926. It has a normal surface area of 240 acres. It is owned by Georgia Power Company. Nacoochee is a gravity dam. The core is homogeneous, concrete. The foundation is rock. Its height is 75 feet with a length of 490 feet. Maximum discharge is 24500 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 8100 acre feet. Normal storage is 7800 acre feet. It drains an area of 136 square miles.
