Newark Low Head Dam, northcentral Ohio

Newark Low Head Dam is on the North Fork Licking River in Licking County, Ohio and is used for drinking water and recreation purposes. Construction was completed in 1960. It has a normal surface area of 12 acres. It is owned by the City Of Newark.

 

Newark Low Head Dam is concrete. Its height is 12 feet with a length of 175 feet. Maximum discharge is 21000 cubic feet per second. Normal storage is 76 acre feet. It drains an area of 240 square miles.
