Normanskill, New YorkWatervliet Reservoir is the result of Normanskill Dam on the Normans Kill River in Albany County, New York and is used for hydroelectric power, drinking water, recreation, fish and wildlife protection purposes. Construction was completed in 1916. Its normal surface area is 430 acres. It is owned by the City Of Watervliet. Normanskill, also known as Watervliet Reservoir Dam is buttress supported. The core is upstream facing, concrete. The foundation is rock. Its height is 39 feet with a length of 380 feet. Maximum discharge is 23900 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 6600 acre feet. Normal storage is 5000 acre feet. It drains an area of 113 square miles.
