Oakdale, northwest Indiana

Oakdale Dam is on the Tippecanoe River in Carroll County, Indiana and is used for recreation and hydroelectric power purposes. Construction was completed in 1925. Its normal surface area is 3.2 square miles. It is owned by Northern Indiana Public Service Co.

 

Oakdale is of earthen construction, a gravity dam. Its height is 58 feet Maximum discharge is 53220 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 40540 acre feet. Normal storage is 26140 acre feet. It drains an area of 1860 square miles.
