Pennington Lake, southcentral Louisiana

Pennington Lake is on Off Dawson Creek in E Baton Rouge County, Louisiana and is used for recreation and fish and wildlife protection, among other things. Construction was completed in 1993. It has a normal surface area of 16 acres. It is owned by Pennington Biomedical Reservoirarch Center.

 

Pennington Lake Dam is of earthen construction. The core is homogeneous, earth. The foundation is soil. Its length is 3100 feet. Maximum discharge is 79 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 205 acre feet. Normal storage is 137 acre feet.
