Piedmont Lake, northeast OhioPiedmont Lake is created by Piedmont Dam on Stillwater Creek in Harrison County, Ohio and is used for flood control, recreation and fish and wildlife protection, among other things. It has been been there since 1937. It has a normal surface area of 3.6 square miles. It is owned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Piedmont Dam, also known as Piedmont Lake is of earthen construction. The core is homogeneous, earth. The foundation is soil. Though originally completed in 1937, the structure was modified in 1997. Its length is 1750 feet. Maximum discharge is 15200 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 66700 acre feet. Normal storage is 34500 acre feet. It drains an area of 86 square miles.
