Pleasant Valley No 2, southeast Louisiana

Scarborough South Creek No.2; Big Ditch is impounded by Pleasant Valley No 2 Dam on a tributary of Foster Creek in Washington County, Louisiana and is used for flood control purposes. Construction was completed in 1963. At normal levels it has a surface area of 6 acres. It is owned by Washington Parish Police Jury.

 

Pleasant Valley No 2, also known as Scarborough S Creek No.2; Big Ditch is of earthen construction. The core is assumed to be homogeneous, earth. The foundation is assumed to be soil. Its length is 1210 feet. Maximum discharge is 1670 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 518 acre feet. Normal storage is 190 acre feet.
