Poole Lake, central Texas

Poole Lake is on the Bear Hollow Branch River in Kerr County, Texas and is used for flood control purposes. Construction was completed in 1974. It has a normal surface area of 234 square miles. It is owned by Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

 

Poole Lake Dam is of earthen construction. The foundation is unlisted or unknown. Its height is 26 feet with a length of 900 feet. Its capacity is 230 acre feet. Normal storage is 97 acre feet.
