At normal levels it has a surface area of 4.2 square miles. It is owned by Mdc. Saville Dam, also known as Barkhamsted Reservoir is of earthen construction, concrete. Its height is 135 feet with a length of 1950 feet. Normal storage is 113000 acre feet. It drains an area of 53.8 square miles.
