Sikes Lake, northcentral Texas
Sikes Lake is on a tributary of Holliday Creek in Wichita County, Texas and is used for recreation purposes. Construction was completed in 1956. It has a normal surface area of 20 acres. It is owned by Midwestern State University.
Sikes Lake Dam is of earthen construction. The foundation is unlisted or unknown. Though originally completed in 1956, the structure was modified in 1978. Its height is 20 feet with a length of 750 feet. Maximum discharge is 1700 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 370 acre feet. Normal storage is 180 acre feet. It drains an area of 5.6 square miles.
