Soda, southeast Idaho
Alexander is created by Soda Dam on the Bear River in Caribou County, Idaho and is used for hydroelectric power purposes. Construction was completed in 1925. At normal levels it has a surface area of 1.9 square miles. It is owned by Pacificorp.
Soda, also known as Alexander is concrete, a gravity dam. The core is homogeneous, concrete. The foundation is rock. Though originally completed in 1925, the structure underwent modifications in 1991 (structural and hydraulic). Its height is 94 feet with a length of 492 feet. Maximum discharge is 17580 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 15760 acre feet. Normal storage is 15200 acre feet. It drains an area of 4099 square miles.
