Cross Island National Wildlife Refuge supports a variety of small mammals, white-tailed deer, bald eagles, ospreys, and song birds. Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge provides important feeding and nesting habitat for many bird species, including waterfowl. Petit Manan National Wildlife Refuge spans over 200 miles of Maine coastline and includes five national wildlife refuges * Petit Manan, Cross Island, Franklin Island, Seal Island, and Pond Island.
