Spavinaw Lake, northeast Oklahoma
Spavinaw Lake is created by Spavinaw Dam on Spavinaw Creek in Mayes County, Oklahoma and is used for drinking water and recreation purposes. Construction was completed in 1922. It has a normal surface area of 2.5 square miles. It is owned by the City Of Tulsa.
Spavinaw, also known as Spavinaw Lake, formerly Spavinaw Lake is of earthen construction. Its height is 75 feet with a length of 2400 feet. Maximum discharge is 275000 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 72400 acre feet. Normal storage is 38000 acre feet. It drains an area of 390 square miles.
