Construction was completed in 1920. It is owned by the City Of Newburyport. Upper Artichoke Reservoir Dam is of earthen construction, a gravity dam. Its length is 200 feet. Its capacity is 1500 acre feet. Normal storage is 700 acre feet. It drains an area of 3.8 square miles.
