Upper Bayou Nezpique No 3, southwest Louisiana

Crooked Creek Reservoir is impounded by Upper Bayou Nezpique No 3 Dam on a tributary of Bayou Nezpique in Evangeline County, Louisiana and is used for flood control and recreation purposes. Construction was completed in 1974. It has a normal surface area of 432 acres. It is owned by Evangeline Parish Police Jury.

 

Upper Bayou Nezpique No 3, also known as Crooked Creek Reservoir Dam is of earthen construction. The core is assumed to be earth. The foundation is assumed to be soil. Its length is 1940 feet. Maximum discharge is 1530 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 5500 acre feet. Normal storage is 2975 acre feet.
