Upper Bayou Nezpique No 6, southwest Louisiana

Upper Bayou Nezpique No 6 Dam is on a tributary of Bayou Nezpique in Evangeline County, Louisiana and is used for flood control purposes. Construction was completed in 1969. It has a normal surface area of 450 acres. It is owned by Evangeline Parish Police Jury.

 

Upper Bayou Nezpique No 6 is of earthen construction. The core is assumed to be earth. The foundation is assumed to be soil. Its length is 3140 feet. Maximum discharge is 1540 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 4500 acre feet. Normal storage is 3050 acre feet.
