Weiss - Main Dam, northeast Alabama
Weiss Main Dam is on the Coosa River in Cherokee County, Alabama and is used for hydroelectric power and recreation purposes. Construction was completed in 1961. It has a normal surface area of 47 square miles. The dam is also known as Powerhouse Dam And West Freeboard Dike. It is owned by Alabama Power Company.
