Wolf Run Lake, West Virginia

Wolf Run Lake is impounded by Wheeling Creek 25 Dam on the Wolf Run River in Marshall County, West Virginia and is used for flood control purposes. Construction was completed in 1977. It has a normal surface area of 23 acres. It is owned by Wheeling Creek Watershed Commission.

 

Wheeling Creek 25, also known as Wolf Run Lake is of earthen construction. The core is earth. The foundation is rock, soil. Its height is 85 feet with a length of 777 feet. Maximum discharge is 22222 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 4670 acre feet. Normal storage is 347 acre feet. It drains an area of 15.44 square miles.
