Yatesville Lake, northeast Kentucky
Yatesville Lake is formed by Yatesville Dam on Blaine Creek in Lawrence County, Kentucky and is used for flood control, recreation and fish and wildlife protection, among other things. Construction was completed in 1988. It has a normal surface area of 3.5 square miles. It is owned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Yatesville Dam, also known as Yatesville Lake is rock fill. The core is earth. The foundation is rock, soil. Its length is 855 feet. Maximum discharge is 63000 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 83300 acre feet. Normal storage is 38100 acre feet. It drains an area of 208 square miles.
